Career Assistance Network Website Launch

Clients Web Design

After quite a few months, we’ve finally launched the new website for the Career Assistance Network in Red Deer. It has been a fun process and the amazing thing about a site is watching the content come together. I have to admit, I’m a sceptic when talk turns to the active management of content. I like simple web tools that get used. I’m pretty shameless in my promotion of that.

Well, Aaron at the CAN office really impressed me. I have not worked with many people (particularly small business owners) who write as diligently as Aaron. Kudos certainly go to the content here. Not flashiest, but it is accurate.

And the design? We were requested to supply “super clean” layouts (design-speak for ‘white’) and we certainly did that. But it was a little cold, and CAN is in the Human Services Industry. Cold doesn’t work here. So we rounded up some of CAN’s clients and took some custom photos to try to breathe life into the layout. Boy does it help! Now the “super-clean” also has a touch of humanity to bring it home. That and a simple Flash widget to allow for a touch of playability on the homepage.

For trivia’s sake, the empty chair is indeed a workstation in the Redpoint offices, if you ever wanted to see inside our digs.

As much as I like the clean layout and the slight margins, the content is king with this one, Congrats RDCAN!
