2019 Canada Winter Games Mascot

Overview

I was thrilled to illustrate Waskasoo, the mascot for the 2019 Canada Winter Games.

Problem

The Games needed illustrations to support the mascot program—suit, stuffies, and swag—while staying true to a character already loved by the community.

My Solution

I worked with Sabrina at Quarter Section Creative to expand on Lacombe resident Mackenzie Van Damme’s original design. I created illustrations that guided the development of the mascot suit, merchandise, and other branded materials.

Result

Waskasoo came to life as a community character representing the heart of the Games. I’m proud to have played a part in bringing this mascot into the hands of athletes and fans.
